On Day 365 of the Piney Woods Church Road Project, I close this photographic enterprise with a pair of images of Japanese honeysuckle and blackberry cane leaves, illuminated by afternoon sunlight.
What next? One year closes, another one opens. One pilgrimage concludes, and new prospects beckon to me. I find solace in the sage words of H.D. Thoreau: “There is more day left to dawn. The Sun is but a morning star.”
Hi Clifford, I’ve traveled down Piney Woods Church Road with you every day this year and have enjoyed your subjects and emerging themes. I think my favorites were the inner worlds of water droplets, but I’ll have to scroll back through the year (perhaps tonight, as a year’s end tribute) to know for sure. The leaf entries reminded me of the leaf rubbing book we made as children. I’m sure it was you that identified the leaves and me that suggested adding glitter. Cheers to your year of reflection.
